With a population of more than 2,500 students, small classes are taught by expert faculty at the college, which is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Besides academics, the college also stresses moral, ethical and spiritual enrichment.

The school owns the nearby Polynesian Cultural Center, the largest living museum in the State of Hawaii. The center employs about 700 students from Brigham Young.
